However, please do not expect hotel-like service while staying at our self-catering vacation rental home.

Although we want to do everything to ensure your satisfaction with your stay, and although we do have maintenance people available to respond to maintenance needs, much like your own home, we do not have hotel staff to assist with personal needs.

As such, similar to most vacation rentals, Guests are asked to treat the property as their own home, which includes taking out trash, cleaning their dishes, and leaving the property in a condition similar to which it was found. However, unlike some vacation rentals, we do not ask our Guests to strip beds, do laundry, mop, or sanitize.

Our rental will be very clean when you arrive, but please understand that reasonable signs of wear and use may be present as not all items are brand new.

We care immensely about delivering a 5 star experience for every Guest. However, in order to do so, we ask that our Guests have the reasonable expectations of a self-catering vacation rental home, not of a hotel.

No. The property does not include sleeper sofas or pullout sofas. The sleeping capacity shown in the listing is based on the actual bed count and is not inflated by sleeper sofas.

The parking capacity for vacation rentals in our area is determined by our county engineers and is based on a parking space size of 9’ x 19’ per vehicle. In order to park the maximum number of midsized vehicles allowed on the property, the vehicles will need to be parked front to back and side by side with very little space in between.

Please note that if you have large vehicles such as trucks/vans/suvs, then the parking capacity will be less than {{ParkingCapacity}} total vehicles.

Please be aware that {{City}}’s code enforcement is very strict on parking limitations and constantly patrols the neighborhood for parking violations. If more than {{ParkingCapacity}} cars are parked on the property there is up to a $300 fine per vehicle by the City of {{City}}. If vehicles are parked on the street or on the grass there is up to a $300 fine per vehicle and the City of {{City}} will also tow the vehicle, usually in less than two hours.

Yes. The golf cart is considered a vehicle and does count toward the maximum number of vehicles permitted to be parked at the property. Please ensure that the total number of cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and golf carts parked at {{PropertyName}} does not exceed the maximum allowed parking capacity of {{ParkingCapacity}} .

While we can only provide parking for {{ParkingCapacity}} vehicles as mentioned in the listing, some guests have shared that they’ve been able to find additional parking at nearby shopping centers or public areas, which can be seen on google maps.

Having anything delivered/stored/dropped-off prior to your check-in time of 4:00 PM CST or left on the property after your check-out time of 10:00 AM CST is a violation of our house rules and of your booking agreement.

Guests do not have our authorization or consent to have any item delivered prior check in/arrival or after their check out/departure. Guests are responsible for their vendors’ actions and are responsible for ensuring that their vendors do not deliver before 4:00 PM CST on their check in day or pick up after 10 AM CST of their check out day.

Additionally, third party services are the Guests’ personal matters that are not part of the property rental and are not our responsibility. Services with any third party are strictly between you and that service.

We are unable to coordinate, communicate with, sign for, accept, authorize or provide access for any third party service. As such, please list your phone number (not ours) as a contact number.

Most beach access points in our area offer some form of parking, and our golf carts are street-legal low-speed vehicles that may be parked in any standard parking space where vehicles are permitted. Yes, but locations are limited, the bonfire requires a permit and its setup/cleanup can be time consuming. It makes doing a bonfire a breeze.

Crab Island is a very popular sandbar (not actually an island) for both locals and tourists that is located by the Destin bridge at Destin Harbor.

There are five basic options for getting to Crab Island if you don’t own your own boat: 1.) Rent a pontoon boat or waverunner(s) at Destin Harbor, 2.) Hire a water taxi at Destin Harbor or at the base of the Destin bridge (google “Destin FL water taxi”), 3.) Charter a captained boat (google “charter boat Destin FL” for options), 4.) book a ticket on a Crab Island tour boat (google “Crab Island tour Destin FL”), 5.) or take a tiki which is essentially a floating, thatch-covered bar (google “Destin FL tiki boat”)

No. Unlike most properties in our area, we do not charge a pool heating fee between October 1 and April 30. Between October 1 and April 30, you will be able to control the temperature of the pool heater.

The pool is able to be heated to the manufacturer’s safe max temperature of 90 degrees. And the pool heater typically raises the pool temperature by 1 degree per hour.

(From May 1 to September 30 you will not be able to the control the temperature because the pool is not heated between May 1 and September 30.)

We don’t recommend it.

Pool heating is included at no additional charge in our October 1 through April 30 rates. Our May 1 through September 30 rates do not include the cost of pool heating.

Our pool company charges $150 to commission the pool heater for the season (they have to light the heater and leak-test the gas lines) and another $150 to decommission the pool heater. As such, there would be $300 in labor charges plus $80 per day in fuel charges to heat the pool between May 1 to September 30.

This means that the additional costs to heat a pool between May 1 and September 30 would total $540 for a 3 night stay or $860 for a 7 night stay.

Keep in mind that heated pools have a maximum temperature of 90 degrees and that our average outdoor temperature is 82-94 degrees between May 1 and September 30. As a result, paying to heat the pool to 90 degrees between May 1 and September 30 is not a good value for our Guests as the additional charges will make little, if any, difference in the temperature of the pool.

Between October 1 and April 30, you will have direct access to the pool heater’s control panel that is located on the pool heater.

Additional instructions on how to operate the pool heater will be provided in our “How To” email that you will receive by 1:00 PM CST on your check-in date.

Unlike hot tubs that are designed for stationary use and, as such, typically reach temperatures of 104 degrees, heated pools are designed for active use. As such, pool-heater manufacturers typically set a maximum safe heating-temperature limit of approximately 90 degrees.

Pool heaters typically increase the temperature of a pool by approximately one degree per hour.

Pool heating is unavailable from May 1 through September 30.

{{PropertyName}}’s pool is heated seasonally from October 1 through April 30.

During this time, there is not an additional fee to heat the pool, as the cost of heating the pool is already included in your nightly rate.

From May 1 through September 30, the cost of heating the pool is not added to your nightly rate, as pool heating is not available between May 1 through September 30.

The pool heater changes the pool chemistry and we need as much time as possible in between Guests to balance the pool and provide a hygienic pool. As such, we do not turn the heater on prior to our Guests’ arrival.

However, upon your arrival you will be able to adjust the temperature to your preference between October 1 and April 30.

Specific instructions on how to operate the pool heater will be provided by 1 PM on your check-in date.

The pool heater increases the temperature of the pool approximately 1 degree per hour to the manufacturer’s max safe temperature of 90 degrees.

Yes. Although it often gets moved around, the pool net (that can be used for removing debris/leaves) is typically stored near the pool equipment.

No. We do not provide pool alarms at the property.

In our experience, pool alarms in rental properties tend to create more false alarms than actual alarms. Because of this, they often become more of a nuisance for Guests than a meaningful benefit.

However, all of our exterior doors have deadbolt locks to help prevent unwanted access to the exterior and pool area.

If you would like, you are welcome to bring a portable, temporary pool-safety device, such as a travel door alarm, provided that it does not damage the property or require permanent installation and that you remove it prior to check-out.

Alternatively, a wearable water-immersion alarm (which is often considered the most reliable) is something that you could use at our property or anywhere you visit in the future.

Please remember that pool alarms and similar devices should never be used as a substitute for adult supervision.

We use a professional, licensed third-party pool service company to clean, sanitize, and maintain the pool twice each week. This regular service is necessary to help ensure the pool remains clean, hygienic, and safe for our Guests.

Because the pool technicians follow a service route, we are unable to provide the exact date or time they will arrive. You do not need to be present or let them in; they will access the pool area independently. Service is generally completed in less than 30 minutes.

We understand that a service visit may occasionally be inconvenient, and we apologize for any disruption. Thank you for your understanding as we complete this necessary health and safety maintenance.

You must be at least 25 years old to drive the golf cart. No exceptions can be made, regardless of the reason. Our insurance company prohibits anyone under 25 from driving. We’re sorry, there are no exceptions.

The golf cart form has a maximum file size limit of 3MB per image. If your file is larger than 3MB, the upload will be rejected.

To resolve this, please try one of the following options:

1. Take a new photo at a lower resolution
Most phones default to very high resolution. Lowering the camera setting will reduce file size.

2. Screenshot the image instead of uploading the original
Open the photo on your phone and take a screenshot. Screenshots are usually much smaller in size.

3. Email the photo to yourself in a smaller size
Many phones give an option like “Small” or “Medium” when emailing photos. Then upload that version.

4. Use an image compression tool
Free apps or websites like “Compress Image” or “TinyJPG” can quickly reduce file size without affecting readability.

5. Use a different device
Sometimes uploading from a different phone, tablet, or computer automatically reduces the file size.

The golf cart is considered a street-legal low speed vehicle. This means that any licensed driver over 25 years old who has submitted their drivers license, insurance card, and credit card at https://wecare.legacybeachhomes.com/golf-cart-registration/ can legally drive the cart on any road that has a speed limit of 35 MPH or less. All of the roads in the “beach area” south of Hwy 98/Emerald Coast Parkway have speed limits less than 35 MPH and are legal for the golf cart.

Additionally, you are allowed to cross roads that have a 45 MPH speed limit at a stop light (such as Highway 98/Emerald Coast Parkway). However, please note that although crossing a road with a speed limit up to 45 MPH is legal, it is illegal to drive the cart on roads that have speed limits over 35 MPH, which includes Highway 98/Emerald Coast Parkway. Driving down Highway 98/Emerald Coast Parkway or on a sidewalk will almost definitely result in you receiving a traffic ticket.

Trip length and distance vary depending upon load, speed, and other factors. However, the golf cart has a battery gauge.

When the battery bank is below 50% the cart can become sluggish (which is known as “limp home mode”). As such, when 65% is reached, we recommend beginning your return trip in order to recharge.

That said, most Guests find the golf cart is very capable of a full day visiting our beaches and restaurants.

Yes. The golf cart included with your property is street legal, fully titled, and equipped with a valid license plate.

The golf cart may only be operated on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour or less. All traffic laws and posted restrictions must be followed.

Drivers must be at least 25 years old and submit the required driver’s license, proof of insurance, and credit card information before operating the golf cart.

Yes. The property includes one free six seater golf cart. Although most Guests find this sufficient, if you would like an additional golf cart, you are welcome to rent one from any of the many third party rental companies in our area. If you decide to rent an additional golf cart, please have it delivered only after your check in so that you may personally inspect the cart and personally sign for it. We are sorry. Smoking is allowed outside only. Smoking inside the home is strictly prohibited.

If smoking occurs inside the home or if smoke odor enters the property and requires remediation, additional cleaning fees ranging from $500 to $1,000 may be charged to cover the cost of removing the smoke odor.

Please be aware that tropical storms and tropical depressions are a normal part of our weather system and generally have little effect on our area’s operation.

However, if 1.) a storm escalates to a category 4 or 5 hurricane and our area is within the center of the cone of the storm path 2 days prior to the predicted landfall OR 2.) a shelter-in-place order has been issued by our county government due to a weather event OR 3.) the property is uninhabitable for any reason, we will cancel your reservation and issue a full refund.

For the most up-to-date weather forecast, please google “weather zip code {{Zip}}”. Click the date and “wind” to find the forecasted windspeed. (Note: Category 1 is 74+ mph, Category 2 is 96+ mph, Category 3 is 111+ mph, Category 4 is 131+ mph and Category 5 is 156+ mph)

Please note that there is no need to message us regarding storm cancellations, expectations/forecasts or refunds. If any of the above conditions are triggered within 48 hours of your check-in date, we will immediately notify you via email/messenger, cancel your reservation and issue a full refund for your entire stay.

Weather events that do not meet one of the above criteria 48 hours before your check-in date would not create a host cancellation/refund condition.

There is no need to message us to request a storm path prediction/forecast more than 48 hours prior to your check-in date. We are unable to predict a storm path in advance. And we will only have the same information that is available to you online via a google search.

Please also note that just because a hurricane or storm is in Florida or on the Gulf, that it does not mean that our area will be affected. It is very common to have a hurricane in other parts of Florida or on other parts of the Gulf while our area is unaffected. As such, please be certain that you are reviewing storm information that pertains to zip code {{Zip}} only.

Travel insurance is optional and is provided by a separate insurance company. If you already purchased a policy through {{source}} or another provider, contact that insurer directly about coverage, claims or reimbursement.

However, please don’t waste your valuable vacation time doing laundry, making/stripping beds or mopping floors. Our housekeeping team will handle everything for you.

Vacation rentals are different from hotels in that the home is professionally cleaned and prepared before your arrival, but routine housekeeping is not included during your stay.

Our cleaning teams are scheduled in advance for property turnovers, and they are not typically available for additional cleaning appointments once a stay has begun.

If you would like the home cleaned during your stay, you are welcome to arrange and pay for a third-party cleaning service directly.

The yard is professionally maintained each week by a third-party lawn care company. Because the company follows a service route, we are unable to provide the exact date or time when the crew will arrive. As a result, the yard may or may not be serviced during your stay.

The company uses a multi-person crew, so lawn service is generally completed in less than 45 minutes and any disruption is typically minimal.
